Verbalscripts requires transcriptionists who can deliver publication-ready transcripts.

This means:

1. Transcripts should not require additional proofreading or correction

2. High accuracy in:

- Speaker identification

- Terminologies

- Formatting

- Grammar and Punctuation

If your transcripts typically require another layer of proofreading before delivery, this may not meet our standards.

 

Core Expectations:

1. Ability to independently review, edit, and proofread transcripts

2. Strong ability to identify and correct errors prior to submission

3. Consistent output quality across all assignments

 

Legal Formatting Expertise

Candidates must have hands-on experience with multiple legal formatting styles.

1. Ability to work with different court and client formatting requirements

2. Experience producing transcripts in structured legal formats, including:

- Line numbering

- Speaker labeling

- Pagination

- Formatting consistency

 

Tools: Software Experience:

Applicants should have working knowledge of:

1. ASCII formatting

2. WPD

3. FTR

4. Case CATalyst

5. Eclipse

Or equivalent legal transcription software.

You must be able to adapt quickly to new formatting guidelines based on

client specifications.

 

Grammar, Language: Attention to Detail

Accuracy in language is critical in legal transcription.

Requirements:

1. Excellent command of English grammar, punctuation, and syntax

2. Strong attention to detail, especially in:

- Legal terminology

- Names and technical terms

- Dates and numerical data

Candidates must demonstrate the ability to produce transcripts that meet professional

legal documentation standards.

 

Workflow and Availability: Professional Discipline

Verbalscripts operates within a structured and deadline-driven environment.

Candidates must:

1. Maintain daily availability and consistent responsiveness

2. Be motivated to produce high-quality work consistently

3. Demonstrate the ability to self-train and adapt to new requirements

4. Communicate clearly and professionally when clarification is needed

Legal transcription requires handling multiple assignments efficiently.

Required Competencies:

1. Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously

2. Strong file organization and version control practices

3. Ability to meet tight deadlines without compromising quality

Candidates should demonstrate strong project management discipline, especially

when handling high workloads.

You must:
